July 2014

We started July with Kaylin going to Gwenyth’s birthday swim party. The party was at the Corle’s pool. I took Kaylin & Kolby with me. It is amazing the kids aren’t raisins now. They stayed in the pool for hours. It was a perfect day for swimming as it was 90* I believe. The party started at 11:00 and we stayed until 4:00. Abby had prepared a snacky lunch so we took a Read more...

June 2014

To get things started this month, I have picture of a bunch of the freebies I’ve gotten while learning to coupon. I was able to set it all out and have a lady come pick out what she thought the Nelsons could use for Special Hope Network in Africa. I was thrilled for the stuff to go to someone that could use it and they were thrilled to have some stuff to give to the people they Read more...

May 2014

Well I’m quite behind on posting things so I’m going to just try to recap this month and slowly work my way backwards month by month.

We started out the month of May on a business trip in our new motorhome. We left on the 28th of April and were gone through the 2nd of May. We drove all over southern VA and the northern part of NC. Each night we camped in a Walmart parking Read more...

Feb. Day Out With Mom

We have been studying about George Washington in school so I have been thinking it would be fun to take the kids up to Mt. Vernon so they could picture where we were reading about. I mentioned it to Laura and she found that in Feb. they were having a Free Admission day so I decided we would try to make it up there and take advantage of the free day since it is $17 per adult and $14 per kid Read more...

Is This My New Normal?

My Monday started out at 8:30 am…

“Oh wow! It’s already 8:30, I have to get up and get going. We have school today.” I sure didn’t feel like getting up. I was awake several times during the night checking to make sure Chester was ok. Poor guy isn’t getting much sleep these days. He finally falls asleep around 6 and sleeps pretty good for a few hours Read more...

Knee Surgery

The day finally arrived for Chester’s knee surgery! After 2 months of just hurting with no improvement the hurting will hopefully be worth it… Chester was able to get the first knee surgery of the year, HURRAY! He had to be in the doctor’s office by 6:45 so Chester and I got up and left the house at 6 am. Boy it was cold out! I think it was 7*F when Read more...

Cliché Party-New Years Eve

This year we had a Clichè Party for New Years. Everyone was asked to dress up as a clichè. Ned & Sarah, Robby & Abby, and Chester & I planned it. Kathryn and April Martin (with the help of Spencer Clem) decorated the building. We hung papers with clichès printed on them all along the walls. We had 100’s of clichès. Robby & Abby were in charge of food. They did a Read more...

Leaves, Leaves, and more Leaves

Today instead of playing soccer we went over to the Hagan’s house and raked and bagged their leaves. They are on a trip to Texas and haven’t been able to rake their leaves at all this year. We had a good turn out which was nice because there were LOTS of leaves. Several of us blew leaves, while others raked the leaves in piles, and the rest bagged the leaves. By the time we were Read more...

Work Before Play…

We made a deal with the kids that if we all worked together to process a 50-unit order for Cube in both November and December that we would take them to Legoland when we go to Orlando in the spring for OMHA. They were thrilled with the idea. We didn’t have much time to fulfill the order once they arrived so we set aside a couple days to complete the order.

Today we headed Read more...
