Bivy Night

We got up and got the kids around and ran them over to Matt & Amy’s by 8:15 am. and headed to O-Hill for bivy training. Training started at 9:00am. First we had to find a spot that was fairly flat and clear it of sticks and rocks. Chester & I found the perfect tree to build our bivy against. It had a small fork coming off that was perfect for placing the spine of our bivy Read more...

Douthat State Park Camping Trip

October 23-26

We have been wanting to go camping for a while so decided to go camping in honor of Chester’s birthday. We decided to wait until after Apple Butter to go. I figured that the campgrounds would have lots of availability with it not being summer any longer and school being in session. Well not so! I forgot it was peak fall foliage time! We didn’t want to travel too Read more...

October 2014

4th-We have been planning on having a yard sale all year long but when it came down to it we weren’t as prepared as we were hoping to be. They believe their part of a yard sale is to sell muffins and cookies that I have made and keep all Read more...

May 2014

Well I’m quite behind on posting things so I’m going to just try to recap this month and slowly work my way backwards month by month.

We started out the month of May on a business trip in our new motorhome. We left on the 28th of April and were gone through the 2nd of May. We drove all over southern VA and the northern part of NC. Each night we camped in a Walmart parking Read more...

Doc. Bryant at Your Service!

Friday, Chester was trying to fix a snap on a pair of pants, so he asked Bryant to bring him a pair of pliers. Bryant ran in with a pair of pliers. As he ran in his eyes got big and round, and he asked Chester, “Are you going to pull them out Dad?” Chester looked around trying to figure out what Bryant was talking about when he realized he had all his bandages off to air out his Read more...
