Kaylin and I were making dinner for our company last Friday afternoon while Wes and Jes were here. She was having a hay day helping me. She cut up the cilantro for the enchiladas, cut up cheese for cheese sauce, and opened cans for me. I enjoy her helping in the kitchen and she is getting a lot better at it. We still have lots of messes but hey I even made some messes to add to the mix!
While we were working we visited. Our conversation turned to her birthday. (You know you have to plan ALL year long to be ready for a birthday party.) She wants to have a tea party so we talked about who would come. Her list of guests included: Grandmother, Grandmommy, Gwenyth, Tara, Aunt Jessica (“She could probably drive back for the party by herself if Weston couldn’t come.”), Grandma Lois (“because we had a fun tea party before”, Carmen, Grammie, and the list went on and on. Kaylin informed me that she likes tea with milk. I told her that I really didn’t care for hot tea but maybe she could make some for me some time and I could try it with milk in it. She then asked me if I knew how to make tea with milk in it. I told her I hadn’t done that before so she told me she would just ask Grandmother to fix the tea with milk for the tea party. “Can I call her right now and ask her if she can make the tea with milk for my birthday?” Our conversation kind of died down after a bit and we continued working. All the sudden Kalyin piped up and said, “We need to have the tea party be as fancy as possible.” (Smile) I just love when she uses big words. It cracks me up.
