I am so tickled. I made my own Mozzarella cheese today. Bobby and Laura gave me a cheese making kit for my birthday and I haven’t had a chance to make any cheese with it until today. I decided to start with an easy recipe. Anne Bledsoe was over for the day and so while I made cheese she made cookies with the kids so they were entertained where I could concentrate. I was so pleased that the cheese turned out beautiful!
I should have weighed it but I’m guessing I made almost 2 lb. I had at least 3/4 of a gallon of whey left over when I was done so I saved that to use for baking and such. I learned you can use whey in place of milk, broth, or water in a lot of recipes.
Terrell, I thought of you while I was making this cheese. Hopefully you have some luck with your goat cheese.
