We enjoyed our Sept. Camp. This time we had Jaron & Courtney at our house. We headed over to camp after dinner Friday night. Chester led singing that night to get camp started off. Uncle Scott spoke that night. We had snacks and then headed home. After the kids were in bed Jaron, Courtney, Chester and I visited until after 1. The next morning we were up first thing to make it to the meeting hall for breakfast at 8:30. After a quick breakfast we got started with meeting Jonathan spoke first and then we took a 15 min. break. The kids were a bit frustrated that they had to come back in and sit down for “another meeting”. Richard spoke for the 2nd portion of meeting. After lunch we had a Field Day. Eric Rutt had organized activities for the Field Day. The kids started out. They ran races, threw softballs, played tug of war, etc. I think they all had a really great time. After they finished their games most kids went and enjoyed a snow cone made by the Martin girls. Thanks Kathryn and April for bringing that, we all enjoy the refreshment! Next it was the the 50 yard dash (or however long it was) They did guys first and just divided into small groups according to age. The ladies/girls were next. After the races it was softball toss time. Wow! Some of those guys can really throw a ball. Pretty Amazing! Guys and girls got to throw the softballs. The guys did a football toss as well. And to finish up the Field Day we had Tug-O-War. Thanks for all your work coordinating the Field Day Eric (and I’m sure Tori contributed as well). We all enjoyed it! And as if we hadn’t had enough exercise the young people went and played volleyball and the guys played football until dinner time. Thomas Seaborn was in charge of making dinner. We had a YUMMY dinner of Tri-tip. As the last of the food was being grilled it decided to rain. The food was snatched off the grill and taken inside. It was fabulous! And once again-Thanks for all the hard work! We enjoyed dinner and then just visited and watched the kids play before heading home. Everyone was tired at the end of the day today!
Sunday we made it to breakfast a little after 9. We had a regular meeting in the morning then lunch and more visiting in the afternoon. That evening after dinner we had a Worship Service, I guess you would call it. Brett led the time. We had LOTS of enthusiastic singing and quite a few special numbers. It was very encouraging.
Monday we drug out of the house at 9:15 so we a bit late for breakfast but thankfully there was some food left. (Poor Kolby didn’t sleep very well during camp because his eczema was really flared up so he would wake up and just scratch himself. He made big ol’ sores on his feet and legs. Hopefully it will continue to get better and it won’t bother him soon. We are giving him a homeopathic remedy and it seems to be progressing in the right direction.) After breakfast we had meeting and then lunch. Shortly after lunch we cleaned up the building and people started heading home. I was able to help in the kitchen a little in the afternoon while Kolby hung out with Bobby and Laura. I enjoyed working with Jana and Heidi. We headed home about 5:30. When we got home we ran all the kids through the shower and Ches went and picked up some frozen pizzas for dinner. We had dinner and then Ches and the kids headed to bed. I worked on my consignment stuff for a while. My deadline is Wednesday to have all my stuff entered. I’m kind of running behind this time.
