Today Chester took the kids to Lowes to build an airplane for the kids project. I met them at Walmart to pick up a few things. While we were shopping it decided to POUR! (Like a 1/2″ in 30 min.) Chester finished his shopping before I did so was going to head on home. I wrapped up my shopping and decided to make a run for it to the car since I had a mile long list to do today and didn’t have a minute to wait standing around Walmart waiting for it to stop raining. Once again I was wearing flip-flops and it was pouring rain so for the second time in a month and a half I took my shoes off and made a mad dash across a Walmart parking lot barefoot… I was fairly wet when I got to the car and left. I called Chester on my way to ask him a question. He realized I was no longer at Walmart and sort of chuckled. He was standing at Walmart with the kids waiting for the rain to slack off and I hadn’t even seen them and motored right on out of the store to my car. Chester decided to just run out with Kolby and get the van and come back and pick the other 3 kids up. An older lady waiting out the rain appointed herself their guardian while Chester got the car. (It’s sweet to have people that care about others around.) I grabbed 2 umbrellas and a rain coat and helped get them all in the house with out all of them getting soaked!
Later on in the day Kaylin and I were talking about how it was Saturday and we had missed going to yard sales. I told her it hadn’t really been a good day for yard sales since it had been rainy. I told her how I had seen at one yard sale on the way to Walmart all these people running around trying to put stuff away because it was starting to rain. She kind of got tickled about that I guess and chuckling she told me, “When the people go to yard sales and it starts raining they would all get “soaping” wet!” She must have had a funny picture in her mind of soaking wet people because she kept chuckling about it. I had fun chuckling
with at her and her choice of words.
