June 2014

To get things started this month, I have picture of a bunch of the freebies I’ve gotten while learning to coupon. I was able to set it all out and have a lady come pick out what she thought the Nelsons could use for Special Hope Network in Africa. I was thrilled for the stuff to go to someone that could use it and they were thrilled to have some stuff to give to the people they Read more...

May 2014

Well I’m quite behind on posting things so I’m going to just try to recap this month and slowly work my way backwards month by month.

We started out the month of May on a business trip in our new motorhome. We left on the 28th of April and were gone through the 2nd of May. We drove all over southern VA and the northern part of NC. Each night we camped in a Walmart parking Read more...

You Gave Me The Wrong Change!

There are days as a Mom that you wonder will it ever be important to your kids to tell the truth or obey. Some days you feel like giving up and burying your head in the sand and hope all is well when you come up again. But then there are days like today that give you a glimmer of hope and make all those hard days totally worthwhile and make you never want to give up but keep plugging Read more...

When Your 8 Year Old Out-Thinks You

Cooper has all the sudden gotten embarrassed about posting his fictional school stories on his blog so we told him he didn’t have to make the posts public. He figured out how to make those posts password protected so we would be the only ones that could read it. Well the other day I went to grade his work. I saw he had posted a post so I put in the password and was quite surprised to find Read more...

Tea Party Plans

Kaylin and I were making dinner for our company last Friday afternoon while Wes and Jes were here. She was having a hay day helping me. She cut up the cilantro for the enchiladas, cut up cheese for cheese sauce, and opened cans for me. I enjoy her helping in the kitchen and she is getting a lot better at it. We still have lots of messes but hey I even made some messes to add to the Read more...

See Ya’ Later Alligator…After Awhile Croc…

On our way home from Williamsburg we stopped to look at a motorhome in Richmond. We were looking a two others besides this one, all three are the same motorhome except this has an upgraded engine. After checking it over we decided we needed to go get some lunch to have some time to talk about the motorhome and think about what we should offer the guy or if we should even make an offer. More on Read more...

He Has Spoken…

Last night as I was putting Kolby to bed he started “asking” (Also known as clicking his tongue, One click for his blanket and two clicks for his backpack.) for his backpack and blanket. I had been trying to figure out what he was “asking” for when he clicked his tongue and tonight I was finally able to confirm my guesses. I decided it was time for him to start talking Read more...

Feb. Day Out With Mom

We have been studying about George Washington in school so I have been thinking it would be fun to take the kids up to Mt. Vernon so they could picture where we were reading about. I mentioned it to Laura and she found that in Feb. they were having a Free Admission day so I decided we would try to make it up there and take advantage of the free day since it is $17 per adult and $14 per kid Read more...

Doc. Bryant at Your Service!

Friday, Chester was trying to fix a snap on a pair of pants, so he asked Bryant to bring him a pair of pliers. Bryant ran in with a pair of pliers. As he ran in his eyes got big and round, and he asked Chester, “Are you going to pull them out Dad?” Chester looked around trying to figure out what Bryant was talking about when he realized he had all his bandages off to air out his Read more...

To Date or Not to Date?

So, we are working on teaching Cooper to put his name and the date on
every school paper he turns in. (It’s quite a challenge to try to
figure out what day an undated paper was completed!). Somehow
remembering to write the date is a monumental task! So after talking
about it, Heidi and I decided we would buy a date stamp for him. He’d
like to set it Read more...
